What is Omeprazole?

It blocks the cells and acid producing enzymes in the stomach to regulate the amount of acid produced.

Dosage amounts for this medication are 10 mg, Omeprazole 20 mg and Omeprazole 40 mg. It comes in capsules or tablet forms. The most commonly recommended dosage prescriptions for Omeprazole is either in 20 mg or 40 mg, however, 20 mg is mostly used by the patients. The dosage depends mostly on the condition of the patient. While most are dosed with 20 mg or 40 mg Omeprazole capsules or tablets, it is advisable that if you do not have prescription from your doctor - you can take the 10 mg dose.
